How It Works
Anchor Health is built around access. Whether you use insurance, pay out of pocket, or join as a member — you get the same relationship-based care.
We accept CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, Aetna, Cigna, and United Healthcare. We bill your insurance directly for covered services. Your standard copay or deductible applies.
Most patients choose thisNo insurance? No problem. We offer straightforward self-pay rates for all visit types. Visits are fully HSA and FSA eligible. Superbills available for out-of-network reimbursement.

We accept CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, Aetna, Cigna, and United Healthcare. We do not accept Medicaid, Medicare, or other carriers at this time.
Out-of-Pocket Options
No insurance? No problem. All visits are available on a self-pay basis. Our rates are straightforward and available when you book.
All Anchor Health visit fees are eligible for payment with Health Savings Accounts (HSA) and Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA). Use your pre-tax dollars to cover your visit cost.
If your insurance doesn't cover our visits directly, we provide detailed superbills (itemized receipts with clinical codes) that you can submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Request a superbill at any time after your visit.

Common Questions
The most reliable way is to call us at 301-301-9748 or start booking at Book Online — we confirm your insurance before your visit is finalized. We accept CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, Aetna, Cigna, and United Healthcare. Participation can vary by specific plan and benefit tier — always verify before booking.
You can still see Dr. Joseph on a self-pay basis. We provide superbills — itemized receipts with diagnosis and procedure codes — that you can submit directly to your insurance company for potential out-of-network reimbursement. Many PPO plans offer out-of-network benefits. Ask us for a superbill after your visit.
Yes. All Anchor Health visit fees qualify as HSA and FSA-eligible medical expenses. You can use your HSA or FSA debit card directly at the time of payment. This applies to both self-pay visits and any out-of-pocket costs on insured visits (copays, deductibles).
No — we do not accept Medicaid or Medicare at this time. We accept four commercial insurance plans: CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield, Aetna, Cigna, and United Healthcare. If you have Medicaid or Medicare, we're happy to see you on a self-pay basis. Superbills are available for potential out-of-network reimbursement.
Membership is private pay and completely separate from your insurance. Your insurance continues to cover standard services exactly as it normally would — labs, imaging, specialist referrals, and prescriptions are all still billed through your insurance. Membership is an add-on for enhanced access and structured follow-up, not a replacement for your insurance coverage.
Self-pay rates are available at booking on Book Online and by calling 301-301-9748. Rates vary by visit type (new patient vs. established, duration, complexity). There are no hidden fees — you'll see the exact cost before you confirm your appointment.
