Dr. Paule Joseph (PhD, MBA, CRNP, FAAN) is a board-certified family nurse practitioner and founder of My Anchor Health PC — delivering relationship-first telehealth primary care across Maryland through the Anchored Care™ model.
Dr. Paule Joseph founded My Anchor Health PC because she believed primary care had drifted away from what it was supposed to be. The system had optimized for volume — more patients, shorter slots, faster turnover — and somewhere in that process, the relationship between a provider and their patient had become an afterthought. Her answer was to build something different: a practice organized entirely around continuity, depth, and the kind of care that can only happen when a provider truly knows the person in front of them.
Dr. Joseph’s clinical approach is whole-person by design. Physical health doesn’t exist in isolation from mental health, lifestyle, or social context — and she treats accordingly. Whether she’s managing a chronic condition, reviewing lab work, or helping a patient navigate a new diagnosis, she brings the same commitment: take the time to understand the full picture before reaching for a solution.
Her credentials reflect decades of work at the intersection of clinical practice and health systems research. Dr. Joseph holds a PhD and MBA in addition to her CRNP designation, and has been recognized as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (FAAN). She has been elected to the National Academy of Medicine and has received both the Guggenheim Fellowship and the TED Fellowship — honors that reflect her broader commitment to advancing how we think about health and healthcare delivery.
All of that academic and research work informs the practice she built. Anchor Health exists to make relationship-based primary care accessible — not as a concierge luxury, but as the standard. Telehealth is the vehicle because it removes barriers: no commute, no waiting rooms, no half-days lost to a 15-minute appointment. Maryland patients can see the same provider, every visit, from wherever they are.
Care Philosophy
Anchored Care™ is the name for the practice model Dr. Joseph designed from the ground up — a relationship-first, evidence-based, whole-person, continuity-centered approach to telehealth primary care. It’s not a product or a program. It’s a philosophy about what primary care should actually do for a patient over time.
In practice, Anchored Care means a few specific things: the same provider at every visit, longitudinal records that accumulate real clinical intelligence over time, integrated specialist coordination so that referrals don’t create gaps, and the kind of unhurried appointments where a provider can actually notice what’s changed — not just address the stated complaint. It means Dr. Joseph knows your full story before the visit begins, so the visit itself can go somewhere useful.
Telehealth is the right delivery vehicle for this model because it removes the barriers that make continuity hard. Patients who would skip a follow-up because of a long commute show up. Families managing multiple health concerns can see the same provider without coordinating half their week around office hours. Care that used to require geographic proximity now requires only a stable internet connection — and that changes who can access the kind of primary care that actually works.
In Dr. Joseph’s Words
“The relationship between a patient and their primary care provider is the most underrated tool in medicine. When I know someone’s full story, I can catch what lab results miss and prevent what acute care reacts to.”
