A different kind of weight care

Most weight programs treat the number on the scale. At Anchor Health, we treat the biology behind it. Weight is influenced by hormones, metabolism, sleep, stress, medications, and mental health — and a 10-minute telehealth visit with a rotating provider can't evaluate any of that properly.

The Anchored Care™ model means you see the same board-certified clinician every time. Dr. Paule Joseph brings doctoral-level training in sensory science and metabolism, clinical experience across family medicine, and the time to actually understand your body's patterns. Your first visit is a comprehensive evaluation — not a questionnaire that leads to a prescription.

We evaluate the full metabolic picture: lab work including metabolic panels, thyroid function, hormonal markers, and inflammatory indicators. We assess sleep quality, emotional health, medication interactions, and lifestyle factors. Only then do we build a treatment plan — one that may include FDA-approved medical therapies such as GLP-1 medications, but only when they're clinically appropriate for your unique physiology.

This is not a prescription mill. There are no chatbot-driven questionnaires. No assembly-line refills. Every treatment decision is made by a real clinician who knows your history, has reviewed your labs, and has spent time understanding your goals. Care is delivered via secure telehealth to patients across Maryland — from Rockville and Bethesda to Silver Spring, Baltimore, Annapolis, and Frederick.

Because weight and metabolic health don't exist in isolation, your care is integrated with primary care, women's health, mental health support, and chronic condition management — all under one roof. If your provider notices patterns that connect your weight to hormonal shifts, sleep disruption, or emotional health, those become part of the conversation. That's whole-person care. That's what Anchored Care™ was built to deliver.

Our Approach

Biology first, always

01
Comprehensive Evaluation
Full metabolic, hormonal, and lifestyle assessment. Labs ordered and reviewed by your clinician — not auto-generated by an algorithm.
02
Shared Decision-Making
Treatment plans built collaboratively around your biology and goals. FDA-approved medical therapies are one option — not the default.
03
Ongoing Monitoring
Regular follow-ups to track labs, adjust treatment, and address emerging patterns. Continuity means your provider sees what others miss.
04
Whole-Person Integration
Weight care connected to your primary care, mental health, and hormonal health. No siloed treatment. One clinician, the full picture.

Common Questions

Frequently asked questions

No. All visits are conducted via secure telehealth video — available to patients anywhere in Maryland. You'll see the same provider every time from the comfort of your home. No commute, no waiting room. Just consistent, relationship-based care through the Anchored Care™ model.

Most telehealth weight programs use chatbot-driven questionnaires or rotate providers every visit. At Anchor Health, you receive a real clinician evaluation from a board-certified nurse practitioner with doctoral-level training. Your care is integrated with primary care — meaning your provider sees the full picture, not just your weight. Same provider, every visit. That's the Anchored Care™ difference.

Your first visit is a comprehensive evaluation — typically 45 to 60 minutes. Dr. Joseph will review your full medical history, metabolic health markers, hormonal profile, sleep patterns, mental health, and lifestyle factors. Labs will be ordered as needed. Together, you'll build a shared decision-making plan tailored to your biology and goals. No rushed appointments, no cookie-cutter protocols.

Not necessarily. Dr. Joseph evaluates the whole clinical picture first — biology, hormones, mental health, sleep, stress, and lifestyle. FDA-approved medical therapies including GLP-1 medications may be part of your plan when clinically appropriate, but medication is never the automatic first step. The goal is a treatment plan built around your unique physiology, not a one-size-fits-all prescription.
